So, I've finished three more quilts and now have a baker's dozen ready to deliver to Dr. Kaufman. These are all from Tove!
I had what I thought was a perfect match sheet for backing this one. The only problem was that it wasn't wide enough.
I added a less than generous strip to widen it...but not enough. After loading it, the top was exactly the same size as the backing. I persevered, and when finished no one is the wiser, but I succeeded in making it harder than necessary to quilt.
This was a quick, smaller quilt. The one below, my husband said, "I hope someone likes purple." It reads dark navy to me...but I couldn't find anything to match it for binding.
I went with red and white binding, and it works. Thanks, Tove, for all your generosity! We'll see how many more I can finish before we deliver.

Closing in on a dozen...
Thanks to Tove, I'm closing in on a dozen quilts ready to deliver to Dr. Kaufman. She is quite the production quilter!
This is a pretty big quilt, and it's nice to have a variety of sizes. I started out quilting it with one of my new pantos, Modern Southwest from Judy Lyon, but decided it was too dense for such a big quilt. Instead I used some of the design elements to quilt lines across the quilt, and just had a row of the panto on the top and bottom. It worked!
I'm trying to alternate a big one with a small one. I used another of my new pantos, Spiral Suns, on this smaller one.
A gorgeous sunset last night!
Now back to quilting!

Home again, home again
We had a wonderful week in Colorado, three days up in the mountains and the rest of the week at Jackie & Justin's. Still waiting for Justin to send pictures of the boys.
Got home to another package from Tove with lots more tops for Dr. Kaufman, and even this finished quilt!
I also finished this one from Patty E. I had forgotten I had loaded it before I left.
Had a spectacular sunrise on the 10th for Lindsay's birthday! Can't believe my "baby" is 30!
Several of the kitties had disappeared for weeks, and I feared the worst, but they are all back and hanging around!

Up in the mountains
We spent time up in Ouray, Colorado. The wildflowers up in the high country were amazing.
I'm not a big fan of "four-wheeling," but the access to flowers and spectacular views were worth it. I did spend a lot of time with my eyes closed in getting to this scenic spot, Yankee Boy Basin.
The road which was definitely a four-wheel drive road, especially the last couple of miles which had possibly deteriorated with all the rains they've had this year.
There were a lot of people and traffic even on a Tuesday. It had been a long time since we had visited the area.
